Know more about the Scholarship Programme
Are CIHE qualifications recognized?
Of course! All CIHE programmes have been validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), which means both the academic qualification and its status are recognized by the Hong Kong Government.
Can I study part-time?
No. The CIHE Scholarship is only available for non-local students studying at CIHE in full-time mode.
Can I work part-time as well?
Only BA and BBA students are allowed 20 hours per week of on-campus employment during the semester or full-time work during summer, i.e. June 1 to August 31. HD(Design) students, however, are not allowed to work full-time as per government regulations. Study related internships, if approved by CIHE, are allowed.
What is the wage level in Hong Kong?
Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) has come into force since May 1, 2011 for people working in Hong Kong. With effect from May 1, 2017, the SMW rate is HK$34.50 (US$4.45) per hour.
Application deadline is approaching but I have no passport? How can I apply?
We do understand that not everyone has a passport so if you expect to arrive in Hong Kong late, you can still apply now and start in the second semester and we will provide you with make-up classes during the summer semester so that you can catch up with the rest of the class before moving onto the second year. No one is ever left behind at CIHE. That’s for sure!
Can I arrange for my own lodging?
Definitely! If you have friends or relatives in Hong Kong or if you come in a group and would like to arrange for your own lodging, you are more than welcome to do so.
Moving Permanently
Want to live and work in Hong Kong?
Non-local students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree conferred by CIHE are eligible to apply to stay/return and work in Hong Kong in accordance with the “Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG)”. You can even choose to stay here and become a permanent resident too if you work or study for a total of seven (7) years!
As a student, you are allowed to work full-time from June 01 to August 31 (during summer break) and also part-time for 20 hours per week.
Hong Kong has one of the most liberal policies for immigration and work. After finishing your studies, you can also apply for an extension to stay for upto one year. The student visa can be converted into working visa if you get a job locally.
Hong Kong is one of the best places for expats to move and work.
